We are passionate about what we do and have decades of hands-on experience investing in, growing, and advising companies like yours.
Operators and builders at heart, we have spent nights on the shop floor, waited in lobbies for sales meetings, and built teams around common goals and values. As investors and advisors, we have raised capital, evaluated hundreds of businesses, and partnered with dozens of management teams. We have succeeded and we have failed but most importantly, we have learned the best way we know how – through lived experiences.
These experiences have given us a deep appreciation for entrepreneurs that have built enduring businesses. At the same time, they have shone a light on the shortcomings of the traditional private equity model, which often prioritizes short-term profits and capital partners, selling companies over and over and governing them from boardrooms far from their people and markets.
With this in mind we created Crate Capital – an investment company with a long-term perspective, led by a team that understands small business, is guided by doing right by its employees, customers, and partners, and is grounded in small business values of integrity, hard work, and perseverance.
